My name is Barry Dittman and as the Foundation Principal of Palmview State
Secondary College, it is my privilege to welcome you to our school. As we commence our first year of operation, I am very excited about the expanding role that our new college and the Palmview Learning Community provides as an important part of the developing Palmview community. In 2023, we have welcomed our foundation cohorts of Year 7 and 8 students.
I am driven to provide an inclusive, engaging and challenging curriculum for our students, this in turn will see our school prepare your children to be critical and creative thinkers who are intellectually robust and equipped to contribute positively to their community and society as a whole. I commit to supporting all students to graduate with the skills, abilities, certification, and social understandings that will enable them to transition to personally meaningful and sustainable post-school pathways.
Together, through consultation and partnerships with our wider community, we are growing a college that is a welcoming place for all in our community, a place where everybody is valued and respected. A place where quality learning and teaching, supported by positive relationships will empower everyone to be both confident and aspirational about their possible futures. High expectations with high support shapes an environment where our students can embrace learning and achieve their potential whilst strengthening their emotional, social and physical well-being.
Our college is founded on a shared belief that every child deserves the very best education possible. A warm, supportive yet challenging environment in which all children can grow with confidence, enhancing their opportunity for success in life, through a focus on aiming for a personal best. This individual focus will enable the foundation staff of passionate professionals, who are committed to helping students achieve their potential no matter what it takes, work in partnership with our students, parents and community to achieve success.
I look forward to ongoing engagement with our community, to model, shape and foster partnerships between students, staff, parents and the wider community.
