Our Curriculum Excellence Institutes provide our Junior secondary students
opportunity to experience and explore all learning areas of the Australian Curriculum. Each of the Institutes offer a variety of learning experiences across the Core Curriculum, PLUS Curriculum and Enhanced Curriculum stages of learning.
Core Curriculum:
The Australian Curriculum is designed to help all students become successful learners, confident and creative individuals, and active and informed citizens. The curriculum sets out the essential knowledge, understanding, and skills students need to learn, and the quality of learning that is expected of them as they progress through the compulsory years of schooling. It prepares young people for the future world in which they will learn and responds to the challenges that will
continue to shape their world. (

At Palmview SSC, all Year 7 and Year 8 students experience the full breadth of this curriculum.

Palmview PLUS:
PLUS (Project-based Learning Underpinning Success) gives Palmview SSC Junior Secondary students the opportunity to explore term-based learning units built around collaboration, problem-solving and student choice. Through engaging projects linked to their interests and passions, students grow as curious, creative, collaborative and committed learners.
PLUS units are designed to strengthen the Australian Curriculum General
Capabilities, including Critical and Creative Thinking, Digital Literacy, Ethical
Understanding, Intercultural Understanding, Literacy, Numeracy, and Personal
and Social Capability.
Enhanced Curriculum:
All students have access to a range of curriculum offerings that enhance their learning and deepen their passions for particular areas of study. The J
